18/12/06 - Wellington Christmas

Its an indication of how much we enjoy my sisters company that when she said she "just couldn't make it" to us for Christmas Day that we all were willing to accompany my Dad on a day trip to Wellington (4hrs driving each way with 3kids in tow!). I'm not sure if anyone actually asked my Dad if he wanted the compnay butit turned out to be a GREAT day so well worth it.
This is a pretty random pic but wins for its unusualness - We were having an icecream by the harbour, there were wide steps going down into the water for swimmers and paddlers to use, this stingray just glided up out of the harbour and lay there on a step basking in the sun for about 10minutes, then glided off again! It was about 1.2-1.5m tip to tip (or looked it through the water).
