MAY 2007
The progress in May wasn't so obvious as in April. The first bits of ceiling framing went up - this bit will be the ceiling of the master bedroom - the floor visible is the side of the boys bedroom.

First bits of plumbing went in. We were very happy to have found a plumber who works in copper - I don't care what they say plastic snap together pipes just aren't right!

The first bit of the stairs went in, we ended up with more onsite changes in order to make them fit, so we now have angled stairs on the corner rather than a flat landing.

And finally I got our first rubbish skip arranged - only slightly overfilled!

And as the month progressed the stairs were finished and we got more pipes...
Gerard ran LOTS more wiring cable......

And we finally started putting in some serious hours on the house - cutting and bending LOTS of rondo battens and putting them up so we have something to attach wall linings to later. Rondo battens are usually used on ceilings but in steel framed houses are great to use on walls too.
Gerard and his friend H did most of the battening. If you look carefully you can see what I was doing - cutting bits of wood for around each window so that the gib and later on the wooden window surrounds have something to be attached to.
You may be wondering what our dream team is doing while we build? Well to be honest they do spend quite a bit of time at Nanas and at friends houses - Thanks L! - when onsite with us they play on the land, read books, help Dad wire in flushbox's and practise their own building skills! Some weekends we are lucky enough to steal our goddaughter A away from the twins and have her entertaining our 3 instead which is BRILLIANT.
