JUNE 2007
June was an insane month.By now our days started at 6am and often didn't finish until 2am. G would finish work, gobble dinner and then go up the house until the wee hours. I was spending time there during the day or (when we could get babysitters) joining G there at night.
Our good friend W came down from Auckland to help us wire the house. G had already run wires, mounted fuse boxes etc.... but it was still a HUGE weekend by both of them - the result though was this - a house all lit up for the first time!
We had an evening celebration including a campfire - it was a lovely evening and at the end of it I snapped this pic of G and the Dream Team relaxing together in the hammock chair.
That day was also special because we got to meet our newest niece for the first time - wee F is a real cutie. We were so busy rushing round doing that I barely had time to cuddle her. Will have to make up for it next time they visit!
Anytime we are up at the house after dark J loves to tramp about outside with G's headlamp on, real explorer genes coming through in this wee fella.
One of the internet groups I belong too does a Midwinter Secret Santa gift exchange - I had joined in this year thinking that I would be doing it from our new house - of course time came to make it and we were not only not in the house but frantically busy! Somehow it all got put together - though in true me style I totally forgot to take pics before I sent it off - but these 3 pics are what we got in return - TOTALLY spoilt!!First we had the 'adults gift' - beer and chocolates for G -wine and massage oil for us both - and a garden diary and knitting needle storage roll for me!

The kids were also totally spoilt - a pillow rug each (with their names on) and A got a minkee scarf, E a funky purse and J a cool book with felt shapes.

Our secret santa also gave us a 'new house' gift!! 2 Bamboo dishcloths, a covercloth for food and 5 multipurpose cloths.
Brilliant!

With everything happening at such a fast pace things like charging cameras and remembering memorycards went a bit skewy and it seemed that on the few occasions I stopped to pick up the camera something stopped me actually taking pics!
But I did get this pic of "The Big Gib Push" - another HUGE weekend that saw us do all the ceiling gib - this pic shows G, his friend H and our builder P doing the ceiling in the stairs, technically the most tricky bit.
You can see some of the yellow insulation that G and I had spent the previous week installing - each part of the framing had its own piece measured and cut to fit. I actually quite enjoyed that job!
