15/03/07 - Garden Judging!

Today was judging for the school garden competition. The 24hrs previous had seen a HUGE storm come through complete with hail, wind and FREEZING temps so I suspect none of the gardens were at their best. I was at work but Gerards Dad (visiting from Perth) took the kids up there and staged a quick tidy up before the judges arrived! The 2 judges commented on A's potatoes and E's Basil as being the best they had seen. The photo is of A and the 2 judges.
Results are announced next week.

14/03/07 - First Taties

We have never grown potatoes before - yesterday we dug up the first plants - I took this photo as the rest were roasting up in the oven......mmmmm fresh new potatoes!!

13/03/07 - Mini Corn

We had some corn that we planted in too much shade, they never grew very tall at all but they bravely still tried to produce cobs.
Today we harvested their cobs, not at all sure what we'd find within the husk and there they were - tiny but so YUMMY.

12/03/07 - First Nappy for the Twins

We have some close friends having twins soon, today I finally made a start on their nappies. This one is a size small - too cute!

06/03/07 - Inglewood Area Swim Champs

In her school sports last week E swam well enough to qualify for the area swim champs.
This isn't a great photo but every other photo had other kids in it and I feel funny about putting other kids on the net without parents permission.
E is in purple 3rd from the left.
She swam well - 25m freestyle and was *very* close to being 3rd.
A proud mummy moment for sure!

05/03/07 - What favourite toys put up with..........

This carebear is a current favourite of J's. Favourite things of J's get put in the cubby under the seat of his ride-on toy. In this case the result is a rideon with a teddybear head hanging out the back!

04/03/07 - Guinea Pig Kisses

J loves our guinea pig. He gives it great big kisses - face buried in its fur - and then spends 5minutes sitting there spitting out guinea pig hairs!

Phew!!
We selected the colour for the house and garage off of small paint chips - today as the garage cladding went up it was a relief to see that our colour choices work in real life too!
